An IMPORTANT Note About FLU
Many Australians claim to have "Flu" but really mean a "Cold".
Flu (Influenza) is often a serious and perhaps life threatening condition that may need modern drugs and hospitalisation.
If you have any doubts about your condition - see a doctor.
Cold and "Flu" Relief.
There are many recipes across the internet for helping deal with the symptoms colds, flu, and sore throats.
Many of these use Raw Apple Cider Vinegars with "the Mother" as part of the potion.
Just like our suggestions for the morning tonic, we don't make any wild claims... we just report on what has worked for us, and what we hear as feedback from our hundreds of satisfied customers.
Onset of Sore Throat
There are two ways to tackle the bacteria that are trying to spoil your week, and both involve Apple Cider Vinegar. When you start to feel that scratch at the back of your throat, act quickly.
Method 1. Make up a tablespoon (15 ml) of Apple Cider Vinegar in a half cup (120 ml) of warm water and gargle. Repeat as needed.
Method 2. A few squirts of Apple Cider Vinegar to the back of your throat from one of our handy atomisers. Repeat as needed.
Relief Of Symptoms
When the symptoms of the cold or flu drag us down, we all need an energiser. This one is guaranteed to get you moving again.
Prepare this potion ahead of time, and let it mature in the fridge until you need it.
To make 200 ml of potion.
8 x large cloves of garlic.
10 g of hot chillies. (Less if you are faint hearted, more if you are brave.)
Juice of 1 freshly squeezed lemon.
4 teaspoons of honey. (More if you have a sweet tooth)
100 ml of our Apple Cider Vinegar. (Preferably Cold Press)
Thinly slice (or grind) the garlic and chillies. If you want to drink the potion immediately then grinding is much better. Add in the lemon juice, honey and top off with the vinegar. Make up to 200 ml with a little filtered water. Place in a sealed container and let the flavours infuse, preferably for at least a couple of days. Take a shot of about 20 ml of the potion as required. Warning - this potion can become quite addictive, even when you don't have a cold. Keep refrigerated until you need it.
